Snowshill Manor and Gardens

Snowshill Manor is full to the brim of Charles Wade's collection from all over the world. The charming cottage style garden is set in 2.5 acres and is organically run. The garden has stunning views. Located at the village of Snowshill, 5 minutes by car from Broadway.

 


Sezincote Gardens

Address - Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, England, GL56 9AW
Opening times - January to November. Thursday, Friday and Bank Holiday Mondays.
Open 2.00pm to 6pm.

Admission - Adult £5.00

This garden at Sezincote surrounds a fine house built to encompass Indian character in 1810. The Indian influence is seen in the garden and the drive goes over an Indian Bridge with statues of bulls. Water features include a temple pool, Canal, stream bordered with bog loving plants. Fine trees include copper beeches, cedars, limes and yews with many unusual shrubs. In Autumn the tints are marvellous. Located on A44 1.5 miles from Moreton-in-Marsh towards Broadway.


Bourton House Gardens

Opening times - Late May to end August. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Also open Thursday and Friday in September and October. Open 10am to 5pm.

Surrounding a delightful 18th century Cotswold Manor House (not open) and 16th century tithe barn, this exciting 3 acre garden brims with ideas. Located in the village of Bourton-on-the-Hill near Moreton-in-Marsh.


Hidcote Manor Gardens

Address - Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire, England, GL55 6LR
Opening times - Late March to early November. Daily except Thursday and Fridays (but open Fridays in July and August). Open 10am to 6pm (5pm October and November).
Liable to overcrowding on Bank Holiday Mondays and Sundays

Admission - Adult £8.00 (includes voluntary gift aid donation)

A famous Arts and Crafts garden, made c1905. Lawrence Johnston was a keen plantsman with a strong sense of artistic composition. Yew, holly and beech hedges are used to define a series of garden rooms. One room is occupied only by a circular raised pool. Others have a character deriving from their inspired planting. The standard of building craftsmanship is high and the number of plants which have the name 'Hidcote' point to Johnston's expertise.

 


Kiftsgate Court Gardens

Opening times - April to September. May, June and July Daily, except Thurday & Friday, 12noon to 6pm. August Daily,except Thursday & Friday, 2pm to 6pm.
April and September Sunday, Monday & Wednesday, 2pm to 6pm.

Admission - Adult £6.50

 Perched on the edge of the Cotswolds with wonderful views to the west, the gardens of Kiftsgate reflect gardening through the 20th century. The original gardens around the house are planted in colour themes separated by yew hedges. Located opposite to Hidcote Manor Gardens. Located near the village of Hidcote Bartrim not far from Chipping Campden.


Batsford Arboretum

Address - Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, England, GL56 9AB
Opening times - All year daily except Christmas Day and Wednesdays in December and January
Open 10am, last admission 4:45pm.

Admission - Adult £6.00 (£5 in December and January)

55 acres of Parkland overlooking the Evenlode Valley containing over 1500 species of trees. In spring displays of flowering bulbs, wild flowers, and magnolias. Located on the outskirts of the village of Batsford near Moreton-in-Marsh.


Cotswold Falconry Centre

For both adults and children. Watch the flying exhibitions of eagles, hawks, owls, and falcons. Appreciate their speed, grace, agility and their close relationship with the falconer. There are many breeding pairs of birds including the owls in Owl Wood. The Falconry Centre is in the same grounds as Batsford Arboretum.

Stanway Baroque Water Gardens

Address - Stanway, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England, GL54 5PQ
Opening times - June to August. Tuesday and Thursday. Also open Saturdays in July and August. Open 2pm to 5pm.

Admission - Adult £4.00

A Jacobean house with remnants of an early eighteenth century garden. Behind the house one can see a pyramid folly at the top of a hill, from which a cascade used to descend. It is said to have been designed by Stephen Switzer. In front of the house there a walled and hedged enclosures linked by paths.


Cerney House Gardens

A seventeenth century house surrounded by 40 acres of gardens and parkland. There is a herb garden, vegetable garden, knot garden, Victorian greenhouse, wooden gazebo, woodland, orchard and wildflower meadow
